2023-2024
Recreation Scholarship Policy

Scholarships guidelines are based on the fiscal year (July-June) and then by quarter (Q1: July-September, Q2: October-December, Q3: January-March, Q4: April-June).

  • Participants must reapply for financial assistance at the end of June each year.
    • This would include a family who were granted a scholarship in May. They would need to reapply at the end of June.
  • Possible financial assistance levels: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%
    • The amount granted is based on need using total household income as indicated on the required paperwork.
  • Participants can use the granted scholarship for:
    • ONE childcare based program (After School Program or Summer Adventure Camp) per quarter.
    • ONE additional program per quarter*.
      • Example: In Q2, a child could apply their scholarship toward After School Program and Tumbling. If they wanted to participate in an additional program during that quarter, they would be required to pay full cost.
  • You must submit a separate application for EACH participant. However, you may use the same proof of income if it is the same for all participants who are applying.

All applications, with necessary paperwork, must be submitted in person or mailed to the Recreation Center office at 510 SW Dorion Ave. in Pendleton. See the printable form at the bottom of this page.

Please allow for up to 5 business days for application processing and notification to families.

Recreation Program Scholarships are separate from the Aquatic Scholarships (swim lessons, swim passes) and therefore have a different form and process.
