Follow the Project

The Til Taylor Project is a multi-department effort lead by the Parks Office. Multiple teams and businesses are involved in the process of bringing two new playgrounds, a splash pad, and a dog park to Pendleton.

Tons of concrete have been hauled from the site.

Week 2 is under our belt with the Til Taylor 101 Project. The demolition of the old wading pool is still underway, but we are getting there. Multiple tons of concrete have been hauled away from the site to continue to prepare for the new play complex installation.

New concrete!

New concrete in preperation for the playgrounds and splashpad has been poured. The Parks crews have been hard at work getting the site prepared for installers of the splash pad and playgrounds to come and finish the job! We are getting closer!

The Swing Set is in!

The Parks Crews were finally able to set back from the site and let the playground installers do their job! The swing sets are up, and the installers are working on the two playgrounds now.

The Playgrounds Take Shape

The playgrounds at Til Taylor Park are beginning to take shape. To the left, you will see a dark brown, western-town themed playground for ages 5-12 years old, and to the right, you will see the deep green, adventure course for ages 2-5 years old. The splash pad will be directly in the middle, with Til Taylor overlooking from the south.

The Splash Pad is coming to life!

Crews have been working hard to install the splash pad. As it begins to take shape, you may see an intricate arrangement of piping and valves. Much like our own cardiovascular system, the Splash Pad will have a "heart", also known as the vault, that will control the pressure of the water. From the vault, pipes reach out to each of the play structures to supply water.

Splash Pad Concrete Poured

The concrete surface of the splash pad has been poured! In the coming days, the water features will be installed. Each day, the project is visibly progressing.

"PENDLETON — The Til Taylor Splash Pad opened during the weekend. And if the gleeful laughs Sunday morning, Aug. 15, from 4-year-old Iden Harvill of Pendleton are any indication, it’s a big hit.

The splash pad will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 700 S.E. Dorion Ave., Pendleton. The control system will automatically shut off after hours, said Liam Hughes, Pendleton Parks and Recreation director.

Til Taylor Dog Park NOW OPEN!

The Til Taylor Dog Park is now open to the public! Open 5am - 10pm seven days a week, the dog park features a small dog area and large dog area, water fountains for both pups and their human companions, and plenty of shade and benches. Some of our community members even leave balls and other toys for all dogs to enjoy.

Buster and Poppy brown donated the dog water fountain to make sure all dogs have a cool drink of water as they play.
