The Pendleton Parks & Recreation Commission is creating a North Bank Umatilla Advisory Committee to create a vision for the north side of the Umatilla River. This visioning effort will be funded by a grant the city has received with the help of Blue Mountain Land Trust.
The committee will meet in the evenings (schedule to be determined) over 6-9 months, with the result being a community-supported vision of how the north bank of the river can best meet the community’s interests. The advisory committee will then make a recommendation to the city council about how to proceed to fulfill that vision.
The Commission is seeking three individuals from the community to be on the advisory committee. In addition to these three at-large members, the advisory committee will include a member of the Parks & Rec Commission, a Pendleton Downtown Association representative, a chamber of commerce representative, a CTUIR Department of Natural Resources representative, and a city councilor (ex-officio).
Application forms can be found on the City website http://pendleton.or.us/announcement/2128 or by request from goplaypprci.pendleton.or.us. The deadline is Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Submit the completed form in person to the Parks & Recreation Department, or mail to Liam Hughes, Parks & Rec Director, 865 SW Tutuilla Ave. Pendleton, OR 97801 or email to goplaypprci.pendleton.or.us.
