Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) - Operator 1

Applications are being accepted for an Operator 1 position in the City of Pendleton’s Wastewater division of the Public Works Department. Performs work in the operation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment at the wastewater treatment plant.  Requires: high school diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by 2 years of mechanical trade school and/or wastewater treatment school with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent, plus one year of experience in equipment operation and maintenance, municipal treatment operation and maintenance, public utilities, construction, or a related field. Must possess at time of hire or be able to obtain within twenty-four (24) months, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Wastewater Treatment Level I certification. Also requires ability to operate a variety of tools and laboratory equipment including computer, the ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.  Must be able to pass a criminal history check and have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record and have or be able to obtain a commercial driver’s license within one year of hire.  The salary range is $4,037 - $4,968 per month DOE, plus excellent benefits.  Applications are available at https://pendletonor.gov/hr/page/employment or at City Hall, 500 SW Dorion, Pendleton, Oregon.  Completed applications must be returned to the Human Resources Office at the same address no later than the closing date of May 29, 2024.  The City of Pendleton is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
